Commerce·Payments·Immersive Platforms

I own how fans buy. At Warner Bros. that meant checkout, payments, gift cards and promotions across DC, Harry Potter and Movies Anywhere. At Ozone it meant designing immersive worlds where the purchase is part of the play.

Brand metaverse strategy for DC and Harry Potter

My role: author. Presented at TechEx 2023.

A three-phase roadmap taking two franchises from digital collectibles to mixed reality. It set out gamified purchases, rewards earned from films and games and redeemed in store, and virtual marketplaces, mapped across free, à la carte and subscription models.

This strategy became the brief for the DC Metaverse design below.

DC Metaverse

My role: Executive Director of Product. Designed the commerce experience.

Fans create an avatar and move between Gotham City, Metropolis, Themyscira and Atlantis. Commerce is part of the play, not a separate store.

  • In-world cart: a 3D collectible opens a cart inside the experience. Buy the digital collectible, the matching physical item from DC Shop, or both.
  • Gameplay rewards: avatars earn coins as they explore, unlocking rewards and discounts redeemed at in-world storefronts.
  • Storefronts in the world: DC Shop collections appear as shops inside the space and link straight to the product.
  • Measurement: the journey from play to purchase is tracked in Google Analytics.
